Troy Guidry

Troy Guidry is a retired Police Detective Sergeant and a Licensed Private Investigator and has been working as an Investigator for Oracle Investigations Group since 2013. Troy holds an Associates of Arts degree from Golden West College in Criminal Justice and Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) Advanced and Supervisory Certificates.

During his 26-year law enforcement career, Troy worked almost every specialized assignment within the police department. As a patrol officer, Troy obtained a 98% conviction rate for all arrests made. Troy was named Auto Theft Officer of the Year (1992), Patrol Officer of the Year (1996), Patrol Sergeant of the Year (2001), Sergeant of the Year (2010) and was nominated for several of the same awards on additional occasions. Troy rose from the rank of Patrol Officer to Investigator, Field Training Officer, Corporal, Patrol Sergeant, and finally to Detective Sergeant where he oversaw the operations of divisions such as Auto Theft, Fraud (including Identity Theft and White Collar Crimes), Burglary, DNA, and the Child Abuse/Sexual Assault Units. Troy worked many different details including Gangs, Narcotics (including in an undercover capacity) and other specialized units. As a supervisor, Troy’s administrative investigation experience includes personnel administrative matters such as policy violations, complaints of misconduct by police personnel and sexual harassment in the workplace Troy’s extensive investigative experience includes being a court-recognized expert in many areas, including DNA, fingerprint collection, trademark infringement and child abuse investigations. Troy is also POST Certified to conduct Background Investigations and Administrative Internal Affairs Investigations.
During his police career, Troy was known as a dedicated, compassionate and thorough investigator. Troy was recognized numerous times for his service to the community and conducted several training classes on report writing, identity theft, fraud, ethics, and officer safety.

On a personal level, Troy holds a National Soccer Coaching License and Referee Certificates. Troy has coached and refereed youth soccer and baseball/softball teams for over fifteen (15) years. He was instrumental in youth athlete development from T-ball to competitive travel soccer teams that were nationally ranked. Troy is proud to say that several of his players went on to have successful collegiate athletic careers.

Troy’s tenure as a Detective and Child Abuse Unit Supervisor combined with his extensive administrative investigation and coaching experience enables him to conduct education and background investigations for California’s education community that are unparalleled.
