Brian Heider

Brian Heider is the President of Oracle Investigations Group, Inc. and a Licensed Private Investigator. Prior to establishing Oracle Investigations Group, Brian was a high school Teacher, Coach and a decorated Police Officer & Detective. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Riverside in Sociology and Law & Society and is a Lifetime Member of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society. Brian is also a Licensed California Real Estate Broker.

As an educator, Brian taught social science to high school students and was a successful water polo and swim coach at both the high school and collegiate level. His coaching highlights included consistent Top 3 CIF poll rankings, semifinal appearances, league championships, school-wide highest athletic program overall GPA, athlete league MVP recognition and the prestigious LA Times “Coach of the Year” recognition.

During his tenure in law enforcement, Brian spent time as a patrol officer, safe school coordinator, school resource officer, crime scene, gang, narcotics, child abuse and homicide investigator. Brian is a court-recognized expert in multiple disciplines and has authored many high-profile search warrants that were used in many important state and federal court proceedings. Brian is the recipient of numerous accolades and commendations, including the presentation of a prestigious Southern California “Officer of the Year” award. Brian is one of a select few to have received comprehensive Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Practitioner Certification from the National Association of School Resources Officers (NASRO).Brian is also a graduate of the prestigious Gavin de Becker Advanced Threat Assessment & Management Academy, is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) and has received over 1,000 hours of specialized training in police tactics and investigation techniques. Brian is a Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) Certified Background Investigator and is part of a select group of trained professionals in California that are able to conduct comprehensive pre-employment background investigations for law enforcement agencies. Brian also holds Basic, Intermediate and Advanced POST Certificates. Brian’s law enforcement career ended prematurely due to a work-related injury.

Brian founded Oracle Investigations Group in 2010 in order to combine his expertise as a seasoned investigator and former educator to provide exceptional investigative counsel to California’s education community. As the President of Oracle Investigations Group, Inc., Brian has assisted numerous schools and districts across the State of California with their investigative needs. Brian has worked and managed many notable school-related investigations, including thefts, embezzlements, attendance fraud investigations, comprehensive background investigations, teacher/student inappropriate physical relationship claims, personnel issues, hostile work environment claims, racial and gender discrimination claims, retirement fraud, academic degree fraud, worker’s compensation fraud, child pornography and computer forensic investigations. Oracle Investigations Group has conducted these investigations on behalf of traditional public school districts, charter schools, private schools and collegiate universities.

As an outspoken education community supporter and school safety advocate, Brian has used his training and education to help influence policy, procedure and tactics within California’s education community. Brian has also been sought after to speak on investigation and school safety issues and has consulted in new school start up with several of the top academic schools in the State of California.
